One thing I kept out of myself.md is Vox.md. My initial build of the app included vox.md but the note taking felt out of place and not a part of the bridge philosophy - enabling users to bridge the data on their personal devices to files and ai agents.
But where vox.md fits into myself.md is with always-on recordings. I believe with the watch app, or even now with the toggle recording shortcut, we can begin to enable users to record their audio throughout the day and transcribe on device, unlocking another level of self-tracking.
This is already theoretically possible with Vox.md - I just haven't tested it for a true 16ish hour recording and transcription. It has to be resilient, durable even in cases where memory is tight, ideally able to transcribe bits throughout the day rather than in one single run (configurable to transcribe overnight), battery-efficient, and privacy-first.
I think given iOS limitations, the experience is still probably best done in the cloud with frontier, paid models. But I personally don't want my life to be recorded 24/7 then uploaded to the cloud and I think it's safe to assume others don't want that either! So that's a limitation that I'd need to solve to make it even worth doing.
