The data that myself.md collects is extremely sensitive and should be reserved for only those you really trust. I don't trust OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Meta, or any of the other big AI labs. And so we find ourselves at the privacy vs. convenience crossroads.

The ideal is achievable for a lucky few - a local model running on personally owned metal that explores and works for you with cutting-edge intelligence.

But for most of us, we have to compromise if we want to tap into artificial intelligence alongside our personal data. That compromise may be in using local LLMs that run on your personal hardware, using frontier models at the cost of privacy, or doing your own data analysis with handwritten code. These are all valid choices and entirely up to you to choose!

The data is yours. The files are yours. Do as you please.
